Cookies

Since the new Telecommunications Act came into effect on June 1, 2012, every website is legally required to inform visitors about cookies and request their consent. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The law distinguishes between cookies that are functionally necessary and cookies that record your browsing behavior. Functional cookies are used, for example, to temporarily remember your shopping cart and may be placed without your consent. The website would not function at all without these cookies. However, consent is required for placing cookies that record browsing behavior.

Cookies are not dangerous. It is not possible to use cookies to read (private) data from your computer or intercept passwords. Cookies cannot infect your computer with a virus or Trojan horse. Therefore, by allowing cookies, you run no risk.

You will only receive this notification once per browser.

WHAT DO COOKIES DO?
Visitors to websites encounter cookies. These are small files placed on your computer that allow a shopping cart to be remembered and information about your visit to be tracked. There’s a lot of negative press about cookies. However, cookies are useful and virtually essential for the proper functioning of a website. In addition to functional cookies placed by the online retailer (necessary for the site to function correctly), you can also receive cookies from third parties. These cookies record your click behavior and can be used, for example, to display a specific advertisement only once.

COOKIES ARE NOT DANGEROUS
Cookies can never be used to read private data from a computer or intercept passwords. They also cannot infect a computer with a virus or Trojan horse. Therefore, they are completely safe. Cookies have been used without incident on virtually all online stores and websites worldwide since the 1990s.

When visiting the website, you may receive different types of cookies.

COOKIES FOR WEBSITE ANALYSIS
Some websites use Google Analytics to track visitor statistics. This system tracks which pages are visited, what they click on, which browser and screen resolution they use, and much more. This information can be used to gain a better understanding of visitors and to optimize the website accordingly. Google, which provides this service, uses the information to build a relevant, anonymous advertising profile that allows them to offer more targeted ads.

We use cookies for:

(1.1) Tracking the number of visitors to our web pages
(1.2) Tracking the amount of time each visitor spends on our web pages
(1.3) Determining the order in which a visitor visits the various pages of our website
(1.4) Assessing which parts of our site need adjustment
(1.5) Optimizing the website

COOKIES FROM ADVERTISING COMPANIES
Advertising companies measure the success of a campaign and the potential interests of the visitor. They may also record any preferences (e.g., do you want sound on or off?) by reading cookies. If an advertising company has banners on multiple websites, the data from these websites can be combined to create a more accurate profile. This allows advertisers to place their cookies on multiple sites and thus gain a detailed picture of the user’s interests. This allows for more targeted and relevant ads. For example, after visiting an online store, you might see banners on other sites featuring the exact products you viewed or similar products. The website owner cannot view these cookies.

We use cookies for:

(2.1) Tracking which ads you have already seen to prevent you from seeing the same ones repeatedly.
(2.2) Tracking how many visitors click on the ad for billing purposes with the party from which the advertising space is purchased.
(2.3) Tracking how many orders are placed through the ad for billing purposes with the party from which the advertising space is purchased.

COOKIES FROM OTHER EXTERNAL PARTIES
Besides the above, there are other components that can generate a cookie. These are often used by content partners to analyze which sites their users are active on and how their services are performing. Think of videos from YouTube, photos from services like Flickr or Picasa, and “Like” buttons from social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.

We use cookies for:

(3.1) the websites record your visit to assess your interests
(3.2) it can determine whether you have clicked on an advertisement
(3.3) information about your browsing behavior is collectedt passed on to other websites
(3.4) Third-party services are used to show you advertisements
